My most anticipated games of 2019

With the end of a spectacular year in gaming that was 2018, 2019 has some big shoes to fill. With many upcoming titles this year, here are a few that have peaked my interest and I’m really looking forward to play. Keep in mind that these games are my personal picks. Also, I haven’t included any games that haven’t been announced to be released in 2019…. so that rules out The Last Of Us Part 2 and Cyberpunk 2077 (2 games I am very hyped for!). Anyway, without further ado here’s the list.

CONTROL

This game developed by Remedy Entertainment is set to be released sometime in 2019. Like Remedy’s previous games ‘Quantum Break’, Control too has a unique concept where the player can use telekinesis to control objects from the environment. With trippy visuals and cool gameplay, This game looks to bring something new to the table and I’m really excited to try out the new mechanics. Control will release on PS4, Xbox one and PC.

Tropico 6

You are El Presidente! This game developed by Limbic Entertainment is a city building and managing game where you are the leader of the Caribbean island nation of Tropico. City Building games aren’t very common nowadays and I’m glad to be able to play a new one in 2019. Tropico 6 will be available on PC in 25th January. 

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night

Bloodstained is considered a spiritual successor to the Castlevania games which are some of my favorite games of all time. It looks to bring castlevania to the modern era of gaming. We haven’t had a proper 2D castlevania game since a long time and I’m super excited play this game. Bloodstained will be releasing on all major consoles in 2019

Pokemon (2019)

An untitled Pokemon game has been announced to be released in 2019 for the Nintendo Switch. We know nothing about this game other than it is going to be a traditional Pokemon adventure unlike the Let’s Go games that were released in 2018. I love anything Pokemon and i’m Looking forward to see what Game Freak has in store for us.

Wolfenstein: Young Blood

Wolfenstein: Young Blood is a sequel to Wolfenstein 2: New Colossus. The main characters are the twin daughters of B.J Blazkowicz. With two leads, I’m interested to see how the story and gameplay will play out. Again, we don’t have much information about the game other than its premise. Wolfenstein: Young Blood will release sometime in 2019.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order

All we know about the new Star Wars game is the title and that you can play as a Jedi! Other than the  awkward announcement during EA’s Conference in E3 2018, We haven’t received any other information about the game. As long as I get to swing around the Lightsaber and use the force in cool ways, I will be satisfied. The game is being developed by Respawn Entertainment and is slated to release sometime in 2019.

Kingdom Hearts 3

Kingdom Hearts 3 has been a long time coming. It has been over 13 years since Kingdom hearts 2 came out. Hype for this critically acclaimed series has been through the roof! With a weird mix between Final Fantasy and Disney characters, This is an interesting game that somehow worked. I personally haven’t played any of the Kingdom Hearts games…. I know, disgusting! But I am looking forward to trying this one out when it hit shelves in January 29th… very soon!

Jump Force

Dragon Ball, Naruto, One piece… All in one game! This is basically Smash Bros with Shonen Jump characters! You can battle it out as some of your favorite characters in this epic fighting game. As soon as this game was announced I had already decided I would give it a try. So yeah, If you’re an anime fan and you somehow haven’t heard of this game, you absolutely have to give it a try. The game will be released on 15th February.

Devil May Cry 5

As the title suggests, this is the 5th game in the series where you play as the bad-ass devil hunter Dante! and also others…. But of course, I’m most interested for Dante. It is a hack and slash game with combat that makes you feel like an absolute boss when you pull off something cool. The previous games have been known for their difficulty and I would expect this one to do so too. This game will be available to play on 8th March.

Rage 2

Rage 2 is the sequel to a game that no one played. The first rage brought some interesting elements to the table by mashing up FPS style gameplay with racing and vehicular combat. Granted it didn’t do it too well, but the sequel looks to capitalize on the unique formula and expand on it. It also seems to be a mad max mixed with doom kind of game… i don’t know, this game is trying many things, let’s just hope it doesn’t end up like it’s predecessor. This game will be releasing on 14th May.

Days Gone

Days Gone is a post-apocalyptic game with zombies in it. But this game’s selling point is the how the zombies behave and the numbers they come in. The first trailer had surprised me with how many zombies were pouring out at you. It looked horrifying to be honest. But there aren’t just zombies in the game, It has been said that the story will be a big part of it too. This is a PS4 exclusive so to all you other gamers (including me) …. Bad luck. Yep, I don’t have a PS4 and I am still excited for this game….. Zombies can do wonders I tell ya.
